Toowoomba,QLD,Australia -ABC News -Jun 14, 2008: -- Organiser Mick Pattell says drivers will this afternoon vote on a motion to stop operating rigs in an effort to bring the transport industry to a halt... He says drivers are furious about an increase in registration and excise charges... Mr Pattell says they are also unimpressed with new fatigue management laws which strip drivers of points for breaches... But Hughie Williams from the Transport Workers Union says the claims are unfounded... The federal member for Kennedy, Bob Katter, says drivers are angered by the changes... He said, "They've been through all the normal channels and it's quite obvious that the Government is laughing at them and treating them with absolute contempt."...
